Checking In

Hey y’all,

It’s been months since I last posted and I can’t believe I let this blog be stagnant for that long. I have no excuse except that I got lazy. And I know what y’all are thinking, “K, you say that every single blog post, you’re no better than the boy who cried wolf.” Yes, I realize that and now I’m trying to make an effort to change that. Writing has always been my go to stress reliever and one of my favorite hobbies, but with all the new changes in my life, I have hardly had time to sit and write quality content (not that any of my writing is really quality, I’d just like to think it is). I have quite a few half written drafts and lots of ideas written in my notebook, but nothing actually came to fruition. I will try to write more often, not only for my audience (basically just my family, hi guys!) but mainly, for myself. I feel like a part of me went missing during this hiatus and even if none of y’all missed me and noticed I was gone, I sure as heck did, and that is what really matters most.

So, without further ado, here is a quick update on my life.

  • I decided to transfer schools
    • this was a HUGE change for me and although it was a good one, I have to admit it was hard at times. It did, however, help me realize who I am, who my real support system is and pushed me to be a better version of myself. (I might write more about this change as the semester rolls on. What do you think?)
  • I changed my name’s pronunciation back to how it is supposed to sound
    • this was huge for me since I had two different names and what felt like two different personalities
      • Maybe a post about why I decided to do this? Does anyone really care?
  • I got a job this summer (which was my first “real job” Lol
    • I worked at Banana Republic Factory Store and it was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. The people I met were so nice and it was nice to be doing something useful with my summer
  • I also got an internship for this year!!
    • This is what I am most proud of.
    • It is an internship with the U.S. Department of State where I work closely with a U.S. consulate somewhere else in the world. Since I cannot be at that country, I primarily connect with my team and supervisor through phone calls and the internet (thank god for technology).
    • I am creating traditional and social media campaigns to help promote U.S. higher education.

That, I think are the three main updates in my life and I think they are pretty big, haha. I’m excited to see where this new chapter of my life takes me, I have a really good feeling about it. All these changes might have been overwhelming, but I wouldn’t change any of it for the world. It was about time that I started to focus on myself and be selfish for once (again, more on all this later!). I have seen myself grow and change in just a few short weeks and I have become more confident in not only myself but also my future.

I hope this update was helpful and I’m glad to be back! Stay tuned for (hopefully) more frequent posts and updates about my life!

Till next time,
